A growing regional university in British Columbia was undergoing major infrastructure improvements to keep pace with a rapid expanding faculty at the University.
The needs of this university were significant: relocating over 150 faculty members on campus. This required turning individual and private offices into temporary modular buildings, while at the same time maintaining a tight community within a close proximity to the rest of the school.

Delivering a Sense of Community to the Faculty Members
Solution
The University went to tender and BOXX Modular (formerly Britco/BOXX in BC) was awarded the project: 21 separate double-wide offices, totaling over 24,000 square feet. Each building was equipped with eight individual offices and the heating/cooling systems required for the big temperature swings between winter and summer. The site had a severe slope requiring careful placement with the assistance of a crane and an experienced site crew. Upon completion, to bring a sense of community to the faculty that were relocated to these temporary facilities, the faculty nick-named the group of buildings “The Village."
