Our BOXX Modular Prince George Branch location supplied the city of Prince George with 4 mobile and 2 skidded office trailers to act as the central base of the support center, 1 lavatory unit, and 1 additional skidded unit designated as a Cultural Appreciation Trailer, providing a space for First Nation elders and Indigenous representatives from the region to support their communities.
This summer, these units have acted as a safe space for those displaced by wildfires, namely, the evacuees from Jasper, AB. The volunteers from the City of Prince George Emergency Support Services have utilized this base to coordinate aid and comfort for all evacuees, providing a variety of support such as: supplying basic needs like food, shelter, and clothing; accommodating for families with pets and those with disabilities; facilitating communication via phone and Internet connection; and last but not least, giving community members much needed emotional support in a time when they need it most.
