Mont Cascades is a multi-season recreational area in Cantley, Quebec, about a 30-minute drive from downtown Ottawa.
In the summer, Mont Cascades is a popular waterpark, and in the winter, it features a 20-run ski hill and snowshoeing trails. It is also one of the biggest employers in the area, with over 400 employees.
On August 1, 2021, they were devastated by a fire that consumed their 18,000 sq ft lodge. Luckily, their snow-making equipment and ski lifts were still intact, and so the General Manager Luc Desormeaux got to work finding a solution.

The customers at Mont Cascades were thrilled that their ski season was saved – especially when so many social activities for families and friends were shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They found the buildings to be comfortable and practical. And the staff were just as impressed – the manager of the rental shop commented that they had more room in their new modular building than they had in their old shop.
The modular buildings will be staying on site at the hill for another year, until construction starts on a new permanent building. But until then, this project is an excellent example of how BOXX Modular helps our clients find unique solutions to fit their space requirements.
