BOXX Modular Kelowna delivered this client with a unique, stackable workspace solution comprising of 8' x 20' and 8 x 40' Breezeways and Bulldog (otherwise known as container) offices, for a total of ten container-based units. It was imperative that all units were able to stack on top of each other to maximize functional workspace on a small footprint.
The container offices were custom designed to meet the client's specific electrical wiring, insulation, and connectivity needs, and manufactured in a controlled, factory setting to ensure structural integrity and strict adherence to local building codes. Breezeways were designed to be stackable and compatible with the container offices, and would serve to connect all units and provide site personnel with safe and accessible passage between office spaces. For durability, steel reinforcements and secure stacking mechanisms were integrated into their design.
The container offices and breezeways were pre-assembled and delivered to our client's worksite ready to be stacked and craned into position. Due to tight site logistics, a delivery plan was developed to ensure that the containers arrived in stages to prevent congestion on-site. As well, small cranes were employed for offloading the containers and breezeways. These cranes could maneuver within the limited space, allowing for precise placement of all units. For installation, a mobile crane was brought to site, capable of lifting heavy containers and positioning them accurately on top of each other. A detailed plan was created to line-up and stack the containers on top of the breezeways in a specific order, ensuring that the weight distribution was balanced and safe. This included securing the containers with steel brackets and reinforced connections for added stability.
Our dedicated Kelowna team oversaw all aspects of the manufacturing, delivery, and installation phases of the project, and regularly coordinated with the client to ensure that work was on schedule and aligned with all client expectations.
